People of Culture Partners with BMO Bank to Celebrate Chicago Creatives

In March 2024, People of Culture hosted an inspiring event titled “Creative Minds, Wealthy Futures” in partnership with BMO Bank. This vibrant gathering celebrated Black creativity in Chicago, offering networking opportunities, educational resources, and robust support for Black-owned businesses.

The event featured a dynamic panel discussion with industry leaders who are making significant strides in their respective fields. Desmon Walker, CEO and Co-Founder of Narratent Media, shared insights into the media landscape. Jessenation, the Afrobeats superstar, brought a global perspective on music and culture. Keaana Barber, CEO of WDB Marketing, provided valuable marketing strategies, while Emani Figaro, Founder of Maison Mogul, offered entrepreneurial wisdom. The panel was moderated by Marshall Callery, Founder of Youth Talkz, who expertly guided the conversation to ensure a thought-provoking dialogue.

Attendees were treated to mesmerizing music performances by Zion Ali, whose soulful melodies resonated deeply with the audience. Poetry by Tara Levy added a lyrical and emotional dimension, capturing the essence of Black experiences and aspirations.

The event also showcased a Black business exhibition, providing a platform for local entrepreneurs to display their products and services. This marketplace buzzed with activity, creating valuable connections and opportunities for business growth. As guests mingled, they enjoyed a delightful array of food and drinks, further enriching the communal atmosphere.

Efe, the Founder of People of Culture, expressed his excitement about the event’s success and gratitude to BMO Bank for their support. “This is only the first chapter,” Efe stated, hinting at future initiatives aimed at fostering creativity and economic empowerment within the community.

“Creative Minds, Wealthy Futures” was not just an event; it was a movement. It underscored the importance of celebrating Black creativity and supporting Black businesses, setting the stage for many more impactful events to come.
