When it comes to celebrating Black culture, few events do it as spectacularly as “Black is Gold,” organized by the vibrant collective, People of Culture. The fourth installment of this signature event recently took place at the Polsky Center for Innovation in Hyde Park, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. With over 150 attendees from diverse cultural backgrounds, the event was a melting pot of music, fashion, art, and business.<\/p>

The atmosphere was electric as guests poured in, eager to immerse themselves in an evening of enlightenment and entertainment. The event\u2019s diverse lineup ensured that there was something for everyone. From thought-provoking panel discussions to pulsating music performances, and from sumptuous food and drinks to a dazzling fashion show, Black is Gold 4 was a testament to the thriving creativity within the Black community.<\/p>

This year, People of Culture took their game up a notch by teaming up with Ziaire, a rising star in the fashion brand and consulting scene in Chicago. Ziaire brought an extra dash of glam to the event by managing the runway for two highly sought-after designers: Obioma Fashion and Ferano Clothing. As models strutted down the runway, showcasing the latest collections, the audience was captivated by the blend of traditional African aesthetics with modern chic designs. The fashion show was more than just a display of clothing; it was a celebration of cultural heritage and contemporary style.<\/p>

On the business front, the event provided a platform for experienced professionals from various industries, including finance, healthcare, marketing, and technology, to share their insights on Building Black Wealth in the community. The panel discussions were both informative and inspiring, offering practical advice and sparking important conversations about economic empowerment and the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses.<\/p>

One of the highlights of the evening was the palpable sense of community. People of Culture\u2019s founder, Efe, expressed immense excitement and gratitude for the support the event received. “Seeing so many people come together to celebrate and support Black culture is truly heartwarming,” Efe remarked. “Our goal has always been to create a space where we can uplift each other, and Black is Gold is a perfect manifestation of that vision.”<\/p>

The food and drinks were another hit, with a variety of flavors that delighted the palate and added to the festive ambiance. The evening\u2019s music performances ranged from soulful R&B to energetic hip-hop, ensuring that there was never a dull moment.
